“The Power of His Bread” is the debut work of E.A. Peters and centers around the life story of Fadi Arnaout. Arnaout is an immigrant pursuing the American dream through his small restaurant, and he hired Peters to work in his restaurant based on a dream he had of her when she was two years old. Through her time working at the restaurant, Peters learns more about Faudi, his beliefs, and his passions. This book intertwines personal anecdotes, spiritual insights, and lovely prose to make a compelling story for those who look for examples of perseverance, faith, and destiny.
The story focuses on themes of faith, hard work, and destiny, emphasizing the importance of trusting in something larger than us. One of the strongest aspects of this book is the authentic description of the struggles of immigrants, specifically showing us Fadi’s journey and struggles with true honesty. We really grow to know him as a man through his daily activities of managing a restaurant, working long hours, and the sacrifices he makes for his success. His exhaustion and determination are clear to the reader through the story, as is his hope.
Another important theme of this story is the spiritual focus, with a recurring metaphor of bread being divine sustenance. Those who are familiar with religious parables will find familiar words and concepts here, and probably similar comfort as well. Fadi’s anecdotes are both funny and touching, allowing for a nice variety of “food for thought” as one reads. However, the pacing can feel a bit slow at times, with some sections going into detail about the daily needs of running a restaurant. Occasionally as well, the supernatural elements, such as Fadi’s prophetic dreams, feel a bit underdeveloped, but are still a unique addition to this story.
Overall, “The Power of His Bread: True Life Story of Fadi Arnaout” is a unique memoir that focuses on spiritual reflection and storytelling. It is a heartfelt tribute to resilience, the value of hard work, and the mysterious ways life can unfold around us. For readers who love character-driven stories or look for spiritual inspiration in the world around them, the lessons and insights within this work will be touching and memorable.

“The Power of His Bread” by Fadi Arnaout & E.A. Peters – Reader Views Book Reviews

The true story of Fadi Arnaout’s life and struggle in America through the eyes of a beloved employee whom he met in his second vivid dream of 1996. She was 2 years old at that time! Believe it or not, she graduated college as an English major and came to his restaurant to apply for a job while she took a break from school. Amazingly, he hired her based on recognizing her face from his dream after twenty years. He hires her without telling her that he has known all along she was the one who was going to write his life story in a book, and she ended up doing that after she quit the job within a six-month period.
